You might be familiar with smartphones and what you have to do if you want to bring the device to the next level – to root (Android) or jailbreak (iOS) it.
Then comes the new Google Glass, the latest smart-glasses gadget that shook the entire world and engulfed nerds’ hearts. You might ask – well, the video showed everything it can do right? Actually no.
Like any other Google device, rooting is exceptionally easy but the Google Glass doesn’t even need rooting – just a simple “fastboot OEM unlock” and you’re done! Developer of the Google Glass, Stephen Lau, just posted at his own Google+ account saying this with much rage :
“we intentionally left the device unlocked so you guys could hack it and do crazy fun shit with it. I mean, FFS, you paid $1500 for it… go to town on it. Show me something cool.”
Harsh, but it’s nice to see Google still living up to its credo. Hey, Android is open-source too.
