Getting healthier doesn’t have to start with a dramatic lifestyle overhaul. Sometimes it’s an extra walk, a better night’s sleep, or remembering to drink water during a long workout, and tracking those small habits is what turns them into real progress. That’s the thinking behind Samsung Malaysia’s latest health push, which follows the launch of the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2.

The need is real. Malaysia’s National Health and Morbidity Survey 2023 found that 1 in 3 adults aren’t physically active and 1 in 2 live sedentary lifestyles, and a 2024 nutrition study found that only 17.1% of adults eat the recommended two servings of fruit and just 12.2% get three servings of vegetables daily.

To get people moving, Samsung runs quarterly step challenges on the Samsung Health app. The most recent one, called Move Together with Malaysia, wrapped up in September with more than 10,000 participants. The goal was 150,000 steps over three weeks, and anyone who made it could redeem a RM200 voucher.

They kept it simple on purpose, so a morning walk, an evening run, or extra steps during the workday all counted. Alongside the launch, the brand also teamed up with HOKA for a pre-order exclusive for early birds, a community run in Kuala Lumpur on 5 September, and a Samsung Members e-voucher for 20% off selected HOKA products on HOKA’s website, valid until 31 December 2026.

On the watch side, the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 bring Activity, Mindfulness, Nutrition, Sleep, and Vitals together in Samsung Health, using AI-powered insights to turn raw biometric data into practical guidance.

A new Nutrition Alert gives hydration guidance during supported activities by estimating sweat loss relative to your body weight and suggesting when and how much to drink, which is handy in Malaysia’s heat and humidity. Heart Health Score pulls activity, sleep, body composition, and stress trends into one number, Daily Cardio Load shows training intensity and recovery needs, and Fitness Index offers a broader view of your fitness to help set personalized goals. On the Galaxy Watch9, overnight health signals build a personal baseline through Vitals so you can spot meaningful changes over time.

Samsung describes the overall vision as simpler, connected care, where the technology works quietly in the background while you take practical steps toward your own wellness goals.
