Samsung Malaysia announces Galaxy Watch Active2

While we have a few more hours before the grand announcement of the Galaxy Note10 series of smartphones, Samsung Malaysia has announced the Galaxy Watch Active2 ahead of time – pun intended.

While the original Galaxy Watch Active was just launched together with the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones earlier this year, Samsung is quick to update it with the new Watch Active2 as it brings some radical changes like a bigger screen with smaller bezels.

The Galaxy Watch Active2 is available in two sizes – either in the usual 44mm or in the 40mm in diameter. It is also available in two different style – either lightweight aluminium with a fluoroelastomer (FKM) band, or a solid stainless steel with leather strap for that premium look and feel.

The biggest return in terms of feature is the rotating bezel. It has returned to the Galaxy Watch Active2 and it is really convenient to just rotate that bezel to navigate between menus. Also, Samsung is mentioning an upgraded One UI to offer a simpler, clearer, and more natural user experience in terms of navigation.

One new feature here is that you can customize your Galaxy Watch Active2 to match your outfit by using the My Style color extraction algorithm. Available only in the Galaxy Wearable app for Android devices, you can take a picture of your outfit and choose from 5 different patterns. Then, your watch face will change accordingly. You can have a different style every day, or save some of your favorite styles if you ever want to reuse them.

To further integrate with our ever-growing social media lifestyle, the Galaxy Watch Active2 can interact with your social media apps by liking or even watching a short video clip on your wrist itself! Not only that – the Galaxy Watch Active2 now supports real-time voice and text translation in over 16 languages.

And of course, my favorite feature is here as well – Samsung Pay. You can add your payment cards to your Galaxy Watch Active2 and pay for your meals with just your watch. Seamless and simple.
