Yes, the Redmi Note 8 was just launched not too long ago – and today we have yet another new smartphone – and this is the Redmi 8.
It starts at just RM499 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version, and RM599 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version.
This new Redmi 8 comes with these specs:
- 6.33-inch IPS LCD display with 720p resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset
- Up to 4GB RAM
- Up to 64GB storage
- Dual rear-facing cameras
- Main: 12MP f/1.8
- Depth sensor
- 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera
- 5,000mAh battery
Obviously, by looking at the specs, this phone isn’t meant to be a strong performer. You can run casual games but definitely not something intensive.
Also, that 5,000mAh battery is something that I’m really liking. I honestly don’t mind a thicker phone if it has such a big battery. And the Redmi 8 also supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0. This is rare since phones with large 5,000mAh batteries usually do not have fast charging.
The Redmi 8 also comes in 3 different colors – Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, and Ruby Red.
The Redmi 8 will be available in two variants with two different avenues of purchase:
- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage @ 12th October @ RM599
- Available on Lazada, Shopee, and all Authorized Mi Stores nationwide
- 3GB RAM + 32GB storage @ 18th October @ RM499
- Exclusively on Lazada and Shopee only
