Recently, we reviewed the new ROG Zephyrus M GU502. And we loved that laptop to bits – it’s a well-balanced laptop with a rather affordable price tag. And now, ASUS is shaking things up with the ROG Zephyrus G15 – it’s a completely different laptop since it is using AMD Ryzen processors now.
The new ROG Zephyrus G15 now comes with a 15-inch display with up to 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time plus adaptive sync technology, with Pantone validation. That’s impressive.
An interesting thing to note here is that the adaptive sync technology is not named to be either G-Sync or FreeSync. But it is stated that the technology is somewhat different. By utilizing the integrated Radeon graphics, adaptive sync technology is now possible on the discrete GeForce GPU.
The new ROG Zephyrus G15 can be powered by up to an AMD Ryzen 7 processors with 8 cores 16 threads, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU – all cramped into a 19.9mm thin body and weighs in at only 2.1kg total. The laptop also comes with USB-PD charging and WiFi 6 capability – as we’ve tested here.
By looking at the images here, the new Zephyrus G15 seems to be using the same body as the Zephyrus M GU502, but with with a few changes in terms of connectivity and ports.
