We’re just at the start of the new decade, and now Dell is looking forward to what we can expect from the coming decade. Interestingly, there is a revolution happening now, too. The company published a list of plans to be achieved during this decade, aptly named Progress Made Real.
Within the Progress Made Real plan, Dell came out and said a few things – and here’s a summary of the key highlight points. Dell Technologies is committed to expanding further into the market while maintaining and improving upon its existing corporate social responsibilities.

In the Progress Made Real plan, Dell Technologies wants to achieve these things:
- Advance sustainability
- Recycling an equivalent product for every product sold
- Leading the circular economy by using recycled or renewable energy for more than half of the content production
- To use 100% recycled or renewable material in all packaging
- Deliver future-ready skills development for workers in their supply chain
- Drive a comprehensive science-based climate program, setting emissions goals across facilities, supply chain and operations to customer use of our products including partnering with suppliers to meet a greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 60% per unit revenue by 2030
- Cultivate inclusion
-
- Acquire, develop and retain women so they account for 50% of the company’s global workforce and 40% of global people managers
- Acquire, develop and retain black/African American and Hispanic team members so they account for 25% of the company’s U.S. workforce and 15% of U.S. people managers
- Educate 95% of all team members on an annual basis about unconscious bias, harassment, micro-aggressions and privilege
- Transform lives
-
- Advance the health, education and economic opportunity of 1 billion people
- Digitally transform 1,000 nonprofit organizations
- Achieve 75% team member participation in charitable giving and volunteerism in communities
These goals are going to take time, and Dell Technologies give itself a decade to achieve. So far, from what I have seen, Dell Technologies is already on track with the recycled and renewable material part. It was announced that there is a backpack that is made out of recycled materials.
We expect to see future products from Dell with its packaging made entirely out of renewed and recycled materials. I mean, we don’t even keep most of the boxes of products that we buy – so have packages made out of renewed or recycled materials are better.
