HONOR Malaysia just announced the arrival of the MagicBook which is essentially a budget laptop. Now, we’re drawing a lot of comparisons with the MateBook D 15 because essentially, they’re using the exact same list of core specs but with a few differences.
Let’s first take a look at the specs.
- 14-inch IPS LCD display with 1080p resolution
- AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor
- Radeon Vega 8 with 1GB VRAM
- 8GB DDR4 RAM (soldered, 7GB RAM usable)
- 512GB PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe SSD
There are a few differences between the HONOR MagicBook and the MateBook D 15. For one, the screen on the MagicBook is at 14-inches, whereby the MateBook D 15 is at 15.6-inches. Both of them have the same resolution and thin bezels around the display.
Not only that, but the hinge design is also different. The HONOR MagicBook can open wide – nearly 180° flat. That’s impressive as the Huawei MateBook D 15 can only open up to about 135° degrees.
Another difference is that the HONOR MagicBook lacks a 2.5-inch disk drive slot. However, the MagicBook does have a much larger 57.4Wh battery as opposed to the smaller 42Wh on the Huawei MateBook D 15.
All in all, keep in mind of all the differences between the HONOR MagicBook and the Huawei MateBook D 15 that we have highlighted here. If you want to know more about the laptop in terms of design and performance, click here.
