Gigabyte just introduced a slew of new laptops from both the AERO lineup and two more laptops from the AORUS lineup. These two lineups of laptops from Gigabyte are meant for different types of users, but they both promise high-quality hardware.
These new laptops are using the latest hardware from both Intel and NVIDIA. Featuring Intel’s latest 10th generation Intel Core CPUs and NVIDIA’s latest RTX SUPER series of GPUs, these laptops packs unprecedented performance.
New AERO laptops
Introducing, Gigabyte’s new laptops that are made for content creators. We now have 15-inch and 17-inch variants. There are different variants too – namely the OLED and HDR variants. Gigabyte is very focused on the display colors as that is the company’s strong selling point.
Gigabyte now promises Delta E<2, which is so accurate that its inaccuracies are considered to be inconceivable by humans. That’s because Gigabyte is working with X-rite Pantone to ensure that its color accuracy is achieved out of the box. Moreover, the new 4K AMOLED displays with HDR True Black contrast to provide the best colors possible to content creators.
If you don’t want an AMOLED screen, Gigabyte is also offering the AERO series of laptops with an IPS LCD display. These IPS LCD screens have 144Hz refresh rate so that you can still game with the laptop when you’re not working.
Since the AERO series of laptops are also getting the spec bump to the latest Intel and NVIDIA hardware, its cooling system also gets an upgrade. It is now using the improved WINDFORCE Infinity cooling system with a new fan and heatpipes placement.
Since the AERO series of laptops are focused on content creators, Gigabyte is pre-loading NVIDIA Studio drivers out of the box. The NVIDIA Studio drivers are optimized for over 40 content creation applications and are promised to be stable.
Gigabyte also packs in a multitude of ports – namely the Thunderbolt 3, HDMI 2.0, and a full-sized UHS-II SD card reader. I know these are important for content creators because we always complain about these ports.
New AORUS laptops
Focused on gamers, the new AORUS laptops come packed with the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i9 and i7 H-series processors, and also NVIDIA’s latest RTX 20-series SUPER GPUs.
The new Gigabyte AORUS laptops are also focused on gaming by including a mechanical keyboard, 240Hz refresh rate displays, and enhance cooling systems. In other words, the new Gigabyte AORUS laptops are very suitable as professional gaming laptops.
There are a total of 3 new AORUS laptops launched today – the AORUS 17X, AORUS 17G, and AORUS 15G. All these three laptops are available in the overclockable 10th Gen Intel Core i9 or i7 CPUs, coupled with NVIDIA’s RTX 20-series (including the new SUPER variants) or GTX 16-series of GPUs.
We had the chance to play with the AORUS 15G and we have to say – it’s actually quite impressive. It’s solid yet beautiful. It’s a gaming laptop yet it’s a design that I can bring into meetings without my colleagues judging me.
There are also a few useful features like a physical cover for the webcam, SD card reader, and a whole lot of USB-A and USB-C ports.
Gigabyte is using Omron mechanical switches for its keyboard. It’s a tactile and clicky switch – like Cherry MX Blue. However, this Omron switch is not loud and the tactility is quite soft in comparison. We’ll have to try it out further when we have the AORUS 15G for review.
