Kaspersky was finding out how the COVID-19 situation evolved the way we work since we have to work from home most of the time now. In this interesting report, Kaspersky found out that slightly more than half (51%) of those working from home are using the same device to watch adult content and to work.
Kaspersky also found out that 31% of workers are spending more time working, while 46% of workers have increased “personal time”, which leads to the main topic for today.
That 51% who admitted using the same device for work and “play”, 18% of those workers said the device as provided by their employer, while 33% said that they’re using their personal device to do work.
On a separate note. 55% of workers said that they’re reading more news to get updates on the coronavirus situation, and 60% of these news-reading activities are done with their work device. This also increased concerns over the possibility of visiting malicious websites, which can lead to malware infections.
While it is convenient to use the same device to do everything, I would argue that it is best to dedicate specific devices for specific tasks so that we can avoid such a situation. Moreover, it is a psychological thing to use separate devices too. I wouldn’t want to think about work during my alone time – that’s why I have two different computers.
