It’s been around 1.5 years since we last saw the ZenBook Duo series of laptops. When we first reviewed it sometime after Computex 2019, we were amazed by its capabilities but it had its flaws. It went into hiatus after that, but now – the ZenBook Duo series emerges again with a plentiful amount of upgrades.
Just like before, the new ZenBook Duo series are split into two different entries – the ZenBook Duo and also the ZenBook Pro Duo.
Honestly though, the new ScreenXpert utility is just something that I love a lot. Seriously, the ScreenPad Plus is getting more creative use cases that are actually feasible in day-to-day use.
ZenBook Duo 14 UX482
We got the opportunity to get an early hands-on with the ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 as well, which is why we were able to create this first hands-on experience in using the new ZenBook Duo 14 UX482. I gotta say, ASUS made a lot of improvements over the first generation and it’s a fantastically big step forward.
The ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is equipped with two screens – but this time, it now has ErgoLift hinge and also the AAS+ cooling system from the Zephyrus Duo which we also reviewed a few months ago.
Now, the ScreenPad Plus lifts up by quite a lot, making it much more feasible than before.
In terms of specs, it’s packed with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core SoC only and this is because the ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is aimed to be portable and lightweight.
ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED (UX582)
Here’s the big brother of the ZenBook Duo family of laptops. If you want the best of the best hardware on the ZenBook Duo series of laptops, this is the one to get. It comes packed with a 15.6-inch 4K OLED HDR NanoEdge display; a larger 14-inch 4K ScreenPad Plus, an Intel Core i9, and also the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU.
By looking at the specs alone, this new ZenBook Pro Duo UX582 is looking to be the ultimate laptop for creators as it is packed with the latest currently-available hardware and most importantly – has improved user experience over its first generation too.
It also boasts much better cooling performance because of the AAS+ cooling solution and its overall user experience looks to be the same as the ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 as well.
