In the ever-expanding world of staying connected, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Buds Pro, SmartThings Find feature, and also the new Galaxy SmartTag.
We’ll start off with Galaxy Buds Pro first.
It now looks more like the Buds+ that we had last year, and it now also has an oblong-shaped eartip for a better seal around the ear for ANC. And yes, Samsung is claiming that the Galaxy Buds Pro will now feature the most intelligent ANC ever on an earbud.
It will automatically turn off ANC when you’re speaking so that you can hear what’s around you. Other than that, the Galaxy Buds Pro has the entirely same case as the Buds Live.
Then comes the SmartThings Find and the Galaxy SmartTag.
Technically, the Galaxy SmartTag isn’t something entirely new in terms of idea. We’ve seen many companies coming up with this idea before whereby you have a keychain that connects to your phone so that you can track it down.
But, Samsung is taking it a step further. The new SmartTag has the commonly-found BLE connectivity, or Bluetooth Low Energy for short, and also UWB support. UWB is currently only found on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold2, the new Galaxy S21+, and also the new Galaxy S21 Ultra.
By opting into the new SmartThings Find, your lost devices can be detected by other Galaxy devices and will send you a notification on where it was last discovered. Think of it like a hivemind that you can opt into so that your things are constantly tracked by the SmartThings Find.
As of now, we still do not have the price or availability of the Galaxy Buds Pro or the Galaxy SmartTag as of now. We’ll make sure to update this page when we have the information.
