About 2 weeks ago, the top 10 finalists of the Kingston x CSD APAC Mask Design Competition has been announced with several Malaysians making it into the final round. Today, the final result is out and I’m happy to let dear Malaysians know our country managed to produce 1 champion and 2 winners in another sub-category.
To be specific, the 3 winners from our country are Yman.S taking the crown in the Unlimited Colors category while Lilo Jong and Teo Sze Ting have been enlisted for the Special Awards category meanwhile Vietnam’s Nguyen Dang Binh took 1st place in the 3-Colors group with Aljohn M. Matias from the Philippines joining Lilo and Teo in the Special Awards section.
With the competition concluded, champions in the main category took home USD5,000 each while Special Award winners received USD1,000 with all 5 designs scheduled for mass production in the future. Thanks to the works of these artists, face masks are no longer just simply for protection but also a sign of imagination, memory, creativity, and the outpour feelings of an artist.
