Foodpanda has announced they are leveling up its rider’s game through the introduction of a new CSR – panda purpose.
The skills required to work in the digital era aren’t just about pure hard work and dedication but also the necessary knowledge to adapt to the surroundings and how to use them. As such, Foodpanda is teaming up with various government agencies to nurture riders with foundation skills that not only work in the delivery ecosystem but also throughout the rest of their lives.
From a broader angle of viewing this initiative, part of the main goal is to help riders transit into Foodpanda’s affiliated outlets by giving them the appropriate training which in certain cases, given by franchisees or brand owners. Seeing most riders are the unsung heroes of Malaysia delivering all we need while risking their body and health, panda purpose is here to serve as another gateway and an additional choice for riders to go into so that their needs can be directly addressed through holistic welfare assistance.
In any case, proper career growth, guidance, and care for the bottom level of the organization hierarchy have always been underappreciated and it is nice to see Foodpanda taking a more serious and practical step in helping them to survive and sustain especially through the COVID-19 period. Last year we have seen Grab doing the same by enhancing its employee benefit and providing more education with GrabBenefit while Foodpanda is going for the job transition strategy. Nevertheless, thanks for all the abangs sending food whenever I’m in a tight schedule.
