Dell Technologies has unveiled the latest generation, 2021 models of their best-selling Dell EMC PowerEdge servers.

To match the sudden surge of computing demand due to the pandemic, enterprise and industry leaders are all pouring immense funds into securing local and cloud servers to buff up their IT infrastructure and Dell Technologies is stepping in during Q1 2021 to get other companies to address IT demands through the introduction of the suite of EMC OpenManage Enterprise and PowerEdge servers delivering up to 85% time saved on average with many steps eliminated through smart automation.

Dell EMC PowerEdge R750

For the general computing performance category, the new PowerEdge R6515 now packs the recently announced 3rd generation AMD EPYC CPU with monstrous cores and thread count to accelerate Hadoop workloads by up to 60% for big data processing while the PowerEdge R750 uses Intel‘s 3rd generation Xeon Scalable processors with 43% greater performance in massive parallel instructions. Aside from these specific examples, a higher scale of performance means that virtualized environments will also be benefiting from them so these 2 models are basically decent at everything and companies can deploy them for most use cases.

With the use of the all-new processors, that also means PCIe 4.0 support with more than 2x performance gain than the last generation with up to 6 accelerators to support all the data processing and traffic heavy workloads. Additionally, the new AI-enabled servers PowerEdge XE8545 is built to serve AI and Data Analytics sectors immediately as an HPC-ready solution, cramming in a maximum of 128-core 3rd generation AMD EPYC CPU, 4 NVIDIA A100 GPU supported by the vGPU software in a dual-socket, 4U rack form factor while PowerEdge R750xa is made for the machine learning, training and inferencing industry with the support of NVIDIA AI Enterprise created exclusively for VMware vSphere 7 Update 2 that rocks the 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and supports up to 4 double-slot or 6 single-slot GPUs.

    Dell EMC PowerEdge XR11 XR12

For the more extreme use cases, the newly introduced PowerEdge XR11 and XR12 ruggedized servers is the superior performance, endurance plus security solution with hardened chassis, minimal footprint, and multi-accelerator support based on Intel’s platform to satisfy the growing demands of edge-based workloads.

Onto the subject of cybersecurity, many breaches and hacks have been directed towards global-scale organizations and hardware-based security is more crucial than ever. With Dell EMC’s silicon-based Root of Trust, Secured Component Verification function plus the PowerEdge UEFI Secure Boot Customization feature, lesser security vulnerabilities can be discovered.

Dell Technologies is also not a fan of environment-destructing business therefore the new chassis checks in ducted fans and adaptive cooling with greater efficiency of up to 60% thanks to multi-vector cooling that directs airflow to the hottest parts through thermal physics. Some models even feature liquid cooling with proprietary leak-sensing technology to keep parts safe and sound from spilling coolants.

      Availability

The PowerEdge R6515 is available right now with R750 and R750xa having a planned May release while the XE8545 will launch next week on March 29 and lastly, the XR11 and XR12 will be coming in during Q2 2021.
