Samsung and Qualcomm have announced that they are cool boys in the industry as they revealed the latest agreement to have their strategic partnership extended.

Despite Samsung still continuing its best effort to refine the Exynos chip to fight against competing SoCs, the Korean giant isn’t one to shy away from other players that would help them in their other business sectors otherwise. Specifically, the patent license agreement between them and Qualcomm is the reason why the partnership has been extended until the end of 2030.

Scope expansion is also one of the major aspects both companies are exploring but for the main part, networking technologies covering the 3G, 4G, 5G, and 6G range is what the agreement is all about. Thus, for the years to come, Galaxy devices will be utilizing Qualcomm-made components made just for networking.

With how much undiscovered potential is ready to be unlimited for 5G, smartphones won’t just be the beneficiary of this partnership as other things like tablets, laptops, PCs, XR and AR, and more are pretty much useless without any sort of communication.

Touching back on the topic of Exynos, the rumor seems to become a much-confirmed fact that the Samsung-made chip won’t be making a return until necessary so the next-gen flagship Snapdragon SoC will be powering the upcoming Galaxy S23 with no additional options for other regions – Qualcomm for everyone.

Well, at least I don’t have to suffer random bugs in my Android games due to Exyno’s own underlying architecture anymore.
