It suffices to say foldable smartphones are one of the tech storms capable of revamping one’s work patterns through flexible access to screen estate. With the last gen’s Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G making quite an entrance and achieving some results, let’s see what how is better this time around with the Galaxy Z Fold4 5G.

With so many points available, let’s just discuss some of the more interesting ones, at least for me.

First up is the transition of SoC choice from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. Although not Samsung’s fault at hand, the 888 chipset runs like a toaster and is just damn bad at the efficiency scale. So at the very least, using Qualcomm’s 2022 best offering could remedy this problem to an acceptable degree.

Another perspective to take on is the improvements on the rear camera. The Z Fold3 5G’s setup is one of the “proper” complaints I have towards Samsung for using a tier of sensors unfitting for an innovative device.

But with the Galaxy Z Fold4 5G, the 50MP + 12MP + 10MP sounds great to me, at least on paper. Actual results will require the review unit to arrive in the office for me to take a spin with it.

Also, I don’t really know why Samsung decides to make a 1TB storage model here. Aside from using the phone as an external hard drive and perhaps for someone that regularly shoots 4K videos for work purpose, how does one utilizes that much flash storage?

Oh, and the 25W fast charge. Finally. The most welcomed thing in this fast-paced lifestyle of 2022.

If you need some live footage about the device, check out the video below.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 5G is now available for preorder on Samsung’s official website.
