As the brand continues to push for the use of more PCR plastic in its offerings, they are also slowly amping up the ratio as well with the Chromebook Vero 514’s chassis getting a 30% PCR mix while the keycaps and speakers are at 50%. The signature OceanGlass touchpad is present as well and in case you don’t know, it is not made from PCR plastic but rather ocean-bound ones that provide a smooth and sleek texture.

As for the computing parts, it is powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core mobile processor with Iris Xe graphics to tackle all sorts of tasks with ease while going easy on the battery life. Speaking of battery, the fast charge tech allows the 10-hour block of lithium-ion power to be juiced up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Coming in with a 14-inch FHD anti-glare Corning Gorilla display (with optional touch), you can take it out with you and not worry about the sun screwing your view while the 100% sRGB color gamut makes sure you can get a good color accuracy.

Other notable points include a 720p flare-reducing webcam, DTS audio, and a mix of I/O ports like USB-C + USB-A + HDMI. Additionally, Acer also said that the laptop is designed to make self-repair and self-upgrade an easy task but it can only be confirmed if we have a chance to review it in the future.

Reference Price

While official pricing in Ringgit Malaysia is not available right from the get-go, at least we have it in USD which is at 499.99 (approximately RM2,242.92 at the time of writing).
