The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series products are wonderful phones especially for gamers, no doubt. However, the extensive use of the most powerful chipset from Qualcomm to date is kinda the bread and butter of most premium gaming smartphones these days. But that’s about to change as MediaTek joins the fray today.

ROG Phone 6D Series 2The new ones are getting the names ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate with the “D” prefix probably means “Dimensity” in this case (I hope so) because the main point is that instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC will be taking over as the main processor.

Provided by the pre-overclocked parameters compared to the Dimensity 9000, ASUS ROG states that around 10% extra performance is achieved for that little FPS boost because competitive gaming is all about the FPS and nothing else.

The AeroActive Portal, which is the smartphone’s thermal solution design in terms of airflow chamber, has been further optimized for the 6D Ultimate that enables 20% better heat dissipation rate when working in tandem with the AeroActive Cooler 6. On the other hand, the vapor chamber is now 30% larger and the graphite sheet is 85% bigger – all for the sake of a non-toasty smartphone gaming experience.

Aside from the mentioned points, other things stay roughly the same like the high refresh rate and sampling rate AMOLED screen, RAM and storage options, cameras, battery capacity, gaming-related features, and more. So put it simply, it is just an extra purchase option for those who just don’t like Qualcomm chips in general.

ASUS ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition

On the other hand, those who are looking for limited edition items should not miss out on the ROG Phone 6 Batman Edition rocking a special finish that envelops a cloudy night sky penetrated by a searchlight taken further by the special Aura RGB illuminated logo forming the iconic Bat emblem.

In terms of software, a Batman-themed custom Android skin is definitely within the question including lots of customized icons, sound effects, and animations. For the hardware, ASUS is generous enough to provide both the Qualcomm and MediaTek option to satisfy each and every gamer out there.

Can’t call it a day if there are no unique accessories to go with the special package. For one, there’s a USB-C-powered Bat-Signal searchlight mini-projector that shines the Bag-Signal in one of two versions. Also included within is the Batman Aero Case printed with a uniquely-patterned finish and a hidden easter egg image, and a hard-shell travel case case capable of safekeeping both the device and accessories at the same time.

Availability

The availability of the ROG Phone 6D, 6D Ultimate, and 6 Batman Edition is to be announced at a later date.
