Nikon Malaysia has officially launched the brand new Z 8 full-frame mirrorless camera that paves the way to absolute imaging quality for veteran and professional photographers and videographers.
The camera’s High-Res Zoom allows zooming up to twice the focal length’s angle of view, even with a prime lens attached, during 4K UHD and Full HD video recording in full-frame mode. Designed with videographers in mind, it can record up to about 125 minutes in 4K UHD/60p and about 90 minutes in 8K UHD/30p.
With the Z 8’s 4-axis vertical/horizontal tilting monitor, shooting angles are nimble and comfortable, providing smooth and flexible operation. The monitor also adjusts its display orientation vertically or horizontally, including the menu, during shooting mode.
Weighing approximately 910g, it enables agile shooting for extended periods, even for solo operations, thanks to its compact and lightweight video recording system. It offers compatibility with various videography accessories like the MC-N10 Remote Grip, wireless video transmitters, and v-mount batteries, minimizing equipment requirements and setup time.
Multiple format support is also one of the key highlights here with 12-bit N-RAW and ProRes RAW for advanced users, as well as 10-bit Apple ProRes 422 HQ and 8-bit H.265 SDR for beginners or professionals.
Or maybe 8.3K/60p (N-RAW only) or 8K UHD/30p is your thing and you can opt for those instead. Additionally, you may also capture 8K HDR in-camera compatible with Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) 8K monitors via HDMI 2.1 connection.
Decisive moments can be easily captured through the Pre-Release Capture function and High-Speed Frame Capture+ allows recording up to 1 second before or 4 seconds after fully pressing the shutter button.
Notable features also include Autofocus, Real-Live Viewfinder, Vibration Reduction, Auto White Balance, and more.
Price and Availability
The Nikon Z 8 retails in Malaysia right now at the price of RM18,338 for the unit only and RM22,608 that contains a 24-120mm f4 kit so you can start off with a lens right off the bat.
