Samsung has just announced that it has partnered up with Tesla and Hyundai Motor Group to bring an enhanced consumer experience of Samsung’s SmartThings for both vehicles’ users.
To begin with, the service integration with Tesla enables SmartThings Energy to connect to Tesla’s Powerwall, Solar Inverter, Wall Connector charging, and EVs for displaying information relating to users’ energy production, storage, and usage.
SmartThings Energy’s synchronization with the Tesla app’s Powerwall “Storm Watch” function also empowers consumers to be better prepared for situations like power disruptions and outages.
As a result, Tesla Energy’s customers can now seamlessly manage and monitor the power status of their homes through SmartThings Energy and Samsung devices, ensuring more access and connectivity.
At the same time, the collaboration between Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group will expand the SmartThings platform to support the brand’s connected cars as well as electric vehicles (EVs).
Collaborating on the next-generation smart home, Samsung’s SmartThings will join forces with Hyundai and Kia’s connected cars to create “Home-to-Car” and “Car-to-Home” services, along with an integrated home energy management service.
Users will also have access to energy information about their EVs and chargers for them to customize the optimal charging time.
That being said, Samsung will further showcase the integration at CES 2024, so make sure to go check out if you’re there!
