MINIX from Hong Kong is not stopping its product release hype from a couple of weeks ago by following up with today’s U8K-ULTRA media hub.
Powered by the Amlogic S928X-K processor, this sleek media hub is designed to handle 8K UHD video playback with ease, decoding modern formats like AV1, VP9, and H.265. It also has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to elevate the viewing experience to the roof.
It also comes with 8GBLPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage which is pretty decent for a simple media hub.
Need as little cables as possible? Then, skip the Ethernet cable and connect wirelessly with its WiFi 6 capability. But that’s not to say it doesn’t have a LAN port – it does so use it if you prefer connection stability over anything.
For such a small box, some AI tech is also given to make the overall experience better, notably the Super Resolution upscaler capable of enhancing low-res content from doubling up 1080p to quadruple 480p content.
On the other hand, the AI-PQ real-time scene analysis dynamically optimizes quality for every scene to give you the very best it can offer.
In terms of content streaming, it comes with Widevine DRM integration which is the security protocol for making sure videos are delivered to users from legitimate sources, therefore selected streaming platforms and apps are compatible with the U8K-ULTRA.
