Welp, looks like the powerful Apple M4 SoC is now inside a Mac product but not the Macbooks – it’s the iMac, and a 24-inch system no less.
It seems like the Cupertino giant is really aiming for the “thinnest ever desktop all-in-one” product because, for this year’s offering, they are even thinner than before, all the while coming with the Apple M4 chip to deliver up to 1.7x higher performance in productivity programs, 1.5x faster browsing speeds in terms of loading, and up to 2x higher frame rates in games (Yes, probably useful for the niche group of people).
And don’t forget the classic content creation application duo Adobe PS and PR now running up to 2.1x faster.
Running a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, the visuals is going to be super sharp and clear with the entire machine offered in 7 different colors bundled with color-matching USB-C Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard.
Aside from the 12MP Centre Stage camera and Desk View, users no matter casual or professional will be able to benefit from it to do FaceTimes or professional presentations in addition to the 3-mic array and 6-speaker sound system for perfect audio input and output.
Connectivity-wise, it’s pretty cool – 4x USB-C with display daisy-chaining, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Touch ID support. It is also running macOS Sequoia out of the box by the way.
And of course, you get all the yap about sustainability with 100% recycled materials in several components and energy efficiency certifications.
Oh, yes it will also follow the Apple Intelligence release schedule so no “full range support” at the moment.
Price and Availability
The Apple M4 iMac of 2024 will start from RM5,799 for the 8-core CPU + 8-core GPU + 16GB RAM + 256GB SSD + 2 USB-C ports while the RM6,699 version will net you a 10-core/10-core/16GB RAM/256GB SSD/4 USB-C ports config instead.
