Garmin Malaysia has recently introduced its latest Descent G2 smartwatch, packed with diving and health features to empower divers both underwater and in their daily lives.
For starters, the new Descent G2 is equipped with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, a 100-meter dive-rated case, leakproof buttons made from recycled ocean-bound plastics, and a strong sapphire lens, alongside a battery life of up to 10 days in smartwatch mode.
In terms of diving features, the smartwatch boasts the dive readiness function to analyze users’ preparedness based on their sleep, stress, exercise, and jet lag. For recreational diving, it supports multiple dive modes, including nitrox, trimix, and closed-circuit rebreather (CCR), with an in-dive 3-axis compass and a big numbers mode for clear data display.
On the other hand, the freediving features include dynamic apnea mode for tracking pool dives, apnea alerts for real-time depth and interval notifications, and a variometer for ascent and descent rate alerts. Plus, the velocity chart logs dive performance, allowing users to analyze speed and hang time in the Garmin Dive app.
Similar to many other of the brand’s smartwatches, the Descent G2 also offers health and wellness tracking, training and fitness insights, as well as smart connectivity for pairing with Apple and Android devices for notifications, Garmin Pay, safety features, and so on.
Pricing and Availability
Malaysians will be able to purchase the new Garmin Descent 2 smartwatch at a price of RM3,459 starting from 21st February via Garmin e-store, Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store, Garmin Brand Stores, and all authorized retailers.
