Garmin Malaysia has announced that the new Instinct 3 – Tactical Edition smartwatch is coming soon to the local market, offering either an AMOLED display or a solar-powered display option.
Available in 45mm/50mm solar-powered model and a 50mm AMOLED model, the new Instinct 3 – Tactical Edition boasts a metal-reinforced bezel, fiber-reinforced polymer case, and scratch-resistant display. Featuring MIL-STD 810 standards for thermal, shock, and water resistance, it also includes a built-in LED flashlight with multiple brightness levels, a green night-vision mode, and strobe for signaling.
Furthermore, the smartwatch provides advanced navigation tools like a 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter, and multi-band GPS with SatIQ, which ensures accurate positioning while preserving battery life. For added versatility, users can pair the watch with the Garmin Explore app to access detailed maps, create routes, and manage waypoints.
In sensitive environments, Stealth Mode disables wireless communications while still tracking biometric data and distance without logging location. Plus, a built-in Kill Switch can instantly erase all user data if security is compromised. Additional tactical features include dual-position format, Jumpmaster mode, projected waypoints, and so on, making it a reliable tool for mission-critical scenarios.
Built for both intense training and outdoor adventures, the Instinct 3 – Tactical Edition comes with a wide range of preloaded sports apps, including rucking, hiking, HIIT, cardio, and so on. TracBack routing helps users navigate back to their starting point, while Garmin Coach and adaptive training plans support personalized fitness goals for running or cycling.
Users can also create custom workouts using over 1,600 exercises in the Garmin Connect app and track performance with metrics like VO2 max, intensity minutes, and recovery time to avoid overtraining.
For safety, the watch includes incident detection and Assistance alerts (when paired with a smartphone). Additionally, it supports 24/7 health monitoring, including heart rate, advanced sleep, Pulse Ox, and HRV status.
