In conjunction with its 30th anniversary, vivo has announced its venture into the Mixed Reality market through the vivo Vision Discovery Edition MR headset.
Designed to be lightweight yet powerful, it is built on vivo’s expertise in imaging, sensors, and display technologies. Running on OriginOS Vision, it gives users a natural and intuitive way to step into mixed reality, whether for gaming, productivity, or immersive entertainment. Picture watching live sports from multiple angles or enjoying a 120-foot virtual theater screen — that’s the kind of experience vivo is pitching.
But the event wasn’t just about hardware as they also unveiled an integrated upgrade to its imaging strategy, aiming to build a scenario-based ecosystem that covers everything from night photography and portraits to health applications and cross-device experiences.
The company is also leaning into authenticity by joining the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), ensuring future features safeguard content integrity through traceability and verifiability.
On the health side, vivo wants to push imaging beyond smartphones — like combining the Telephoto Macro lens from the X200 series with medical-grade optics to create a portable slit lamp for accessible eye diagnostics.
And for creators, it’s working on smooth cross-device workflows, connecting innovations like 3D imaging on the X100 Ultra, 60 fps spatial video on the X200 Ultra, and now, the Vision Discovery Edition headset.
