Samsung just kicked off its One UI 8.5 beta program, bringing small yet meaningful updates for those into creating content, managing multiple Galaxy devices, or just keeping your phone safer.
The big push this time is all about doing more with less effort, and you’ll notice it right away in the revamped creative tools. Photo Assist now lets you generate and edit images continuously without stopping to save each version, and when you’re done, you can scroll through your entire edit history to pick the ones you want to keep.
Sharing also gets an upgrade, with Quick Share recognizing people in your photos and suggesting who to send them to.
On the connectivity side, Samsung is making it easier for all your Galaxy devices to talk to each other. Audio Broadcast lets you use Auracast to share audio, including your own voice from your phone’s mic, with nearby LE Audio-supported devices, which sounds especially useful for things like guided tours or events.
Storage Share also adds a nice touch by bringing files from your other Galaxy gadgets, including tablets, PCs, and even your TV, directly into the My Files app so you can browse and access everything more fluidly.
Samsung is also tightening up security with One UI 8.5. Theft Protection keeps your device and data safer if your phone goes missing, while Failed Authentication Lock steps in to secure your screen after too many wrong attempts to unlock it. There’s also an expanded identity check that now covers more settings for added peace of mind.
If you want to try it out early, the One UI 8.5 beta will roll out first to Galaxy S25 series users in select countries starting December 8, 2025. You’ll be able to sign up through the Samsung Members app.
