Before 2025 ends, Samsung has managed to burn the midnight oil and officially pushed out the brand new Exynos 2600 SoC.
This silicon brain is built on the Korean giant’s own foundry through a 2nm Gate-All-Around process, enabling a new 0-core CPU setup based on Arm v9.3 architecture, led by a high-performance prime core clocked up to 3.8GHz, backed by 3 performance and 6 efficiency cores, with Samsung claiming a up to 39% performance uplift.
On the GPU side, the Exynos 2600 introduces the Xclipse 960 GPU, which is said to provide 2x compute performance compared to its predecessor while delivering up to 50% better ray tracing. So I guess a huge lift in mobile gaming performance in future Galaxy S phones.
As for AI, the upgraded NPU will be up to 113% faster, directly making any sort of generative AI, translation, smarter camera processing, and other features that run locally faster than before.
Samsung also futureproofs the camera department since it will be supporting sensors up to 320MP, along with advanced ISP features like zero shutter lag for high-resolution shots, AI-powered noise reduction, 8K video at 30fps, and 4K HDR recording at up to 120FPS.
Thermals, which have long been a sore point for Exynos chips, are getting special attention this time around, as the new Heat Path Block design aims to reduce thermal resistance and improve heat dissipation, helping the chip maintain performance under sustained loads like gaming or extended AI tasks. Combined with the efficiency gains from the 2nm GAA process, the goal is smoother performance without aggressive throttling.
While Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed which phones will use the Exynos 2600, it’s widely expected to power at least some variants of the Galaxy S26 series next year, depending on the region. And if these claims hold up in real-world testing, this could finally be the Exynos generation that changes the conversation, not just on paper, but in actual daily use.
