As you know, the Leap device is going to launch soon in the US market. As expected, open source will always bloom creativity and spark ideas that could potentially change the way we live.
Robbie Tilton has managed to utilize the Leap device and create a manipulable hologram. The project, his thesis, uses the Pepper’s effect that uses glass to make objects transparent. Combined with the 3D space sensor, Leap will allow us to interact with the 3D hologram just like in the movies like Avatar and Iron Man.
So far, the device is only a proof-of-concept but I bet when the device is in the hands of hackers world wide, there will be thousands of ideas lighting up the open source community on how we interact with computers.
Soon we will have more spacial control of everything including gaming, simulation and even in the medical field.
