Rakuten Kobo is marking its first appearance at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026 event at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, setting up shop at Booth 207 from May 29 to June 7, from 10AM to 10PM daily.
The showcase centers on the brand’s latest hardware lineup, including its new color eReaders that display illustrations, book covers, and user annotations in full color, alongside standard black-and-white models built for traditional novel reading and note-taking.
Visitors who drop by the booth can also try out an AI Photo Experience, which converts submitted photos into themed digital portraits based on four distinct literary genres, letting attendees see themselves styled as characters inside romance, sci-fi, Harry Potter-inspired fantasy, or Sherlock Holmes-inspired detective settings.
On the digital content front, a 25% sitewide discount on eBooks can be obtained through the promo code ‘MYKL26’. Hardware buyers at the event receive a MYR 120 eBook voucher plus exclusive Kobo stickers, and anyone bundling an eReader with an accessory also walks away with a complimentary Kobo tote bag, though stock is limited.
