Taiwan is stepping up its push into the global health and wellness sector through the launch of the Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 Global Proposal Campaign, which is now inviting Malaysian healthcare providers, technology companies, and industry players to submit collaborative project proposals focused on smart healthcare and wellness innovation.
Organised by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration (TITA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the initiative revolves around the theme “Designing Healthier Futures Together,” with the goal of connecting Taiwan’s expertise in smart healthcare, sports technology, and premium bicycle manufacturing with partners across Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
The campaign’s launch press conference took place on May 27, where Director General of TITA, William Liu, described “Healthy Taiwan” as one of the government’s major policy visions while adding that the upgraded campaign framework is intended to strengthen Taiwan’s position as a preferred international partner for smart health solutions.
At the same time, TAITRA President and CEO Simon Wang said this year’s edition will be paired with international trade exhibitions and business matching events, allowing Taiwanese companies in healthcare, cycling, and sports technology to build stronger long-term relationships with Malaysian and global buyers, investors, and startup ecosystems.
The event itself gathered nearly 100 guests, including representatives from organisations such as the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, alongside enterprises, hospitals, and foreign envoys stationed in Taiwan.
Building on the 2025 edition that attracted 638 proposals from 55 countries, the 2026 campaign is targeting more than 800 submissions across five continents, reflecting Taiwan’s growing ambitions in the international health and wellness industry.
Part of the launch also included a “Health AI Hub” experience zone showcasing innovations across cycling, fitness and sports technology, as well as smart healthcare. Taiwanese companies, including Tokuyo, Makalot, Newtown, Gee Hoo, Ideas Lab, AKIMIA, and Vast demonstrated solutions ranging from low-carbon mobility and smart sports systems to precision healthcare and healthy aging technologies.
Applications for the Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 Global Proposal Campaign are open until August 5, with the top three winning teams set to receive US$30,000 each.
