Acer has introduced the Googlebook 14, its first laptop in a new category built around Google’s Gemini Intelligence and Googlebook OS.
It is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, with an NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS, and can come with up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, with battery life rated for up to 16 hours.
Meanwhile, it uses a 14-inch 3K OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 500-nit brightness and touchscreen support for finger or USI 2.0 stylus input. A Corning Gorilla Glass finish provides additional scratch and damage resistance, while DTS-tuned audio and dual upward-facing Acer Ultra Boost Stereo speakers handle sound.
To stay portable, the aluminum-magnesium chassis is only 13.9mm thick and weighs 1.14kg, with the 60-degree hinge supports clamshell, tent, stand and tablet modes, while a backlit keyboard and Gorilla Glass-covered touchpad round out the design. A Glowbar on the lid changes colors and patterns to indicate battery and charging status.
Connectivity includes Intel Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, one Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C ports. The laptop also features a 5MP webcam with noise reduction, a triple-microphone array and a physical privacy shutter. Security features include a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button and a Google Titan-C security chip.
Much of the laptop’s functionality centers on Gemini Intelligence. The Continue On feature lets users pick up tasks started on an Android phone on the Googlebook 14, while Cast My Apps provides access to Android phone applications without requiring separate installations. The system can also provide context-aware suggestions based on the content displayed on screen.
Acer is also bundling 12 months of Google AI Pro with the Googlebook 14, enabling expanded access to Gemini, Flow and Gemini Notebook, along with Gemini features in Google apps and 5TB of cloud storage.
Availability
While not announced for Malaysia just yet, it will be launched in NA in October from USD899, EMEA in October from EUR1,199, and Australia in November from AUD2,599.
