vivo just unveiled OriginOS 7, which is packed with various enhancements based around rebuilt graphics computation, memory management, and system scheduling from the ground up through what it’s calling the Origin Smooth Engine.
To start, Ultra-Core Computing is basically the smart resource allocator, shifting processing power to wherever it’s need mosted, esulting in a 10% reduction in app cold start time and an 11% improvement in page switching speed.
Memory Fusion goes even deeper, reworking the kernel file system to make memory allocation dramatically more efficient, delivering 60% better memory reclamation and freeing up to 25GB of extra storage on a 256GB device. On top of that, Dual Rendering introduces a new rendering pipeline that boosts efficiency by 14.4%, translating into smoother animations across the whole interface.
The Origin Workbench stays more or less the same, enabling up to 5 active apps at once within a unified workspace, while Origina Animation adds liquid-inspired physics to swipes and transitions so elements stretch and bounce naturally based on your finger’s speed and direction, complemented by a unified Spring Animation profile across the whole system.
Meanwhile, cross-platform connectivity remains a big focus, as it can be paired with Apple atch for notifications and health syncing, connects instantly with AirPods including Spatial Audio support, and through vivo Office Kit, lets you hand off creative work between your phone and an iPad, Mac, or Windows PC, dragging files across screens or syncing notes in real time. iCloud photos and files are even accessible natively through vivo’s File Manager.
Lastly, there’s Jovi, the native personal AI agent that can handle tasks across both mobile and desktop. You could ask it to pull a spreadsheet from your home computer, summarize the key figures, and send the takeaways straight to your phone, all handled autonomously. It can also run scheduled tasks like compiling weekly reports automatically. Snap Note rounds out the productivity side, turning photos of whiteboards or handwritten notes into properly formatted, editable documents with one capture.
On the personalization front, OriginOS 7 also adds some genuinely fun visual touches, including Wiggle Theme, which turns photos into interactive liquid surfaces that ripple when touched, and Glint Theme, which uses the gyroscope to cast realistic light and shadow across wallpapers as you tilt your phone.
In Malaysia, OriginOS 7 will launch first on the X500 Series, before rolling out to other X Series models and eventually the V and Y Series.
