Seems like there will be a delay for the upcoming launch of realme’s GT6 because it was literally stolen by some organized crime group.
According to a report by South China Morning Post (SCMP), the batch of shipment was reportedly intercepted while on its way to Spain.
Further details revealed that in order to prepare for the launch, the stocks were planned for a late May transit and while it did proceed as planned, it was to everybody’s surprise when vehicles carrying the devices were “robbed at gunpoint”.
And I don’t think the thieves are playing around like it’s GTA V with all the firearms and formations. They meant real business.
Anyway, the company did respond with an official address “We haven’t been able to get them back despite doing everything we can, so we won’t be able to ensure the in-store experience we would like during the launch week,”.
No request for comment was entertainment nor any details about the number of devices stolen, loss of value, etc, were disclosed.
Although the preorder phase for Malaysia already started last week and this incident might not affect us in any capacity, it is still a bit of bad news for Spanish and Portuguese distributors, stores, and most importantly, fellow fans.
