For those who are using Chrome OS, the clean, simple, and stock experience provided by the operating system are sometimes hindered by the fact that the devices don’t typically come with extraordinary processing power. But not anymore as Acer updates the Chromebook Spin and Chromebook Tab with just that.
For starters, the 2022 version of the Chromebook Spin 714 alongside the Enterprise Spin 714 is the poster boys for this round of hardware updates. Not only they are fitted with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor but also they are Intel Evo platform verified to guarantee responsiveness, multi-layer security protections, and easily accessible business-ready features.
The premium boys come with a 14-inch touchscreen panel with a 100% sRGB color gamut but 2 options of resolution are available which are 2560×1600 and 1920×1200, depending on whether or not you need those extra pixels or not. The 16:10 display also uses the Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass to deter bacteria growth while being durable. Frequent the stylus input for your daily job? Then appreciate the USI stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to smoothen your sketching and note-taking sessions.
As for the webcam, the laptop houses an FHD MIPI webcam with temporal noise reduction technology and a dual microphone array to capture both your face and your voice perfectly while the DTS Audio and smart amplifier handle the audio department with ease.
Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, a backlit keyboard, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, and an optional fingerprint reader.
On the other hand, the pure tablet sector has the new Chromebook Tab 510 continuing the tradition of it being a durable yet portable device that carries the Chrome OS for on-demand access at any time, anywhere. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 Compute Platform, it can run up to 11 hours continuously off a single full charge and that includes providing juice to the 10.1-inch WUXGA 16:10 IPS screen, 5MP MIPI webcam, and 8MP MIPI rear camera.
Created to meet the MIL-STD 810H standards, the shock-absorbing corner bumps + impact-resistant chassis + reinforced material protects the Chromebook Tab 510 from drops as high as 122cm so it can handle a 1 to 2 floor falls without any problem. Similar to the aforementioned Chromebook offerings, it also has the Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass and dockable USI stylus with 4,096 pressure sensitivity.
