Acer is apparently venturing into the display game via its latest laptop release – the Acer Swift Edge and it is happening in Malaysia.
As the winner of the Red Dot 2022 Award and 2022 Good Design Award, the Swift Edge aims to look good in both its chassis and display. Starting with the body, 12.95mm tall and 1.17kg weight might make it seems frail and thin but it is otherwise due to the magnesium-aluminum alloy being the built material for high durability while staying lightweight.
Armed with an AMD Ryzen 6000 series mobile processor with up to 8 cores, the machine is relatively competent to do a lot of stuff like gaming and editing videos. On the other hand, the real focus of the machine – the display – is a stunning 4K OLED panel that can cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut in addition to certifications of VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe display certifications for an extended and comfortable viewing experience.
A generous range of I/O ports is there too with two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, a couple of USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and an audio jack. The webcam is also a nice FHD unit that runs Acer’s Temporal Noise Reduction technology to make sure you look clear in low-light environments as well.
