While Acer’s Vero series has been a long-running name, the latest one was announced at IFA 2026, which is the Acer Vero 16.
This 4th-gen Vero model leans hard into purposefully sourced materials, with the top and palm-rest covers now made from a mix of 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 50% low-carbon aluminum, plus recycled plastic on the bottom cover and display bezels.
Repairability is also the main point here, as the brand expands on its usual reduce-reuse-recycle approach into what it calls 4R, adding repairability into the mix. That means a tool-free access latch on the bottom cover for easy internal access, a battery and SSD that users can swap themselves, a hinge designed to detach for easier servicing, and removable I/O port covers on both sides. There’s even an engraved visual guide right on the laptop to walk you through repairs.
Acer’s also designed it to support processor upgrades for at least two generations, which is a genuinely rare commitment in this space. The chassis carries MIL-STD-810H certification and uses a solvent-free powder coating that cuts VOC emissions while holding up better than traditional paint, and the whole thing ships in 100% recyclable packaging.
For the computing parts, you have up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 processor with 180 platform TOPS, paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and a 16-inch 3K OLED display for genuinely vivid visuals. A 71Wh battery keeps things balanced with an efficient hybrid architecture, and a 5MP IR camera with a privacy shutter handles video calls while adding some extra security. Connectivity is solid too, with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SD card reader, HDMI 2.1, and Wi-Fi 7, plus a backlit keyboard with Acer’s customizable MyKey hotkey.
As a Windows 11 Copilot+ PC, the Vero 16 also comes loaded with on-device AI features like Click to Do, Cocreator, and Live Captions wih translation, alongside Acer’s own tools like PurifiedView for better video calls and PurifiedVoice for AI-powered noise reduction. AcerSense rounds things out with quick access to performance modes and system monitoring, all through a dedicated hotkey.
