We have been invited to attend the early media preview of the ‘Alice Saves Wonderland’ expo hosted on the 2nd floor of TRX Mall on Friday night so let us run you through the tour briefly.
Located just behind the restaurant Quivo, you’ll first be required to register at the counter by filling in some simple information.
After that, you’ll be given a small choice of whether to enter the ‘Door of Adventure’ filled with some physical activities or the ‘Door of Magic’ for more sightseeing and light show. We went with the latter.
Just to be clear the photos shot for this event are done with the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE.
The first room as mentioned is this light show encased in this magical blue-violet combo trying to convey the feel of bubbles containing various mementos and memories of key elements where they used those “smart fans with LEDs” capable of displaying images for a fantasy feel.
Although the camera of the phone might not have the superior capabilities of, let’s say the S24 Ultra in terms of handling color saturation, at least it is not fuzzy and matches what we see with our own eyes. It is also able to capture other things such as descriptive plaques with clarity.
The next one is the garden section where they flourished the place with lots of flowers of various colors in addition to screen walls surrounding (The entire expo was built with screen walls actually, aside from the first room).
We also got to touch the animals within the screen to make them disappear as well as listen to the narration provided by the “talking flowers”.
In terms of lighting, the phone is pretty cool at capturing details even if there are multiple petal layers.
After that, we went to the “superliminal” room with the miniature house and decorations in sets of three as well as enlarged objects of tea cups, a spoon, and a table set. To emphasize the size contrast, the big ones are really heavy by the way, and the photos could make a space distortion feel as you move through.
Moving to the next room for a small showcase of fancy hats, we are in the interactive room of “Find the Cheshire Cat” where you are given an IR blaster to “shine” on the screen.
There are about five to six of them so take your time to scan through every nook and cranny.
Yes, another size contrast room with the classic “chess and poker card” design language so come and hang around this area for some nice photos and I say nice photos because there’s a booth that let you do some funky poses.
After that, it is time for the decisive battle against the dragon which is also interactive. At here you’re given a sword and you just kind of slash in front of the screen wall to defeat it.
There’s a prop sword stuck inside the rocks too but please don’t actually pull on the thing – it’ll break.
After all of the activities, your journey will end at the theme cafe section with the tea time set available for purchase (there are seatings too so don’t worry) or you can go join some photo ops for gift exchange as well as buy some of the themed items for your friends and families.
