Amazfit Malaysia has announced they will be bringing in the new T-Rex Dual Solar premium expedition smartwatch designed for long-distance and multi-day adventures.
As the world’s 1st AMOLED smartwatch with a dual-sided solar charging system, it can be juiced up with sunlight through the display or through a glass-ceramic back plate.
The watch offers up to 25 days of typical battery life, and solar recovery can stretch that further. The two solar surfaces work in different ways:
- Front solar: Collects energy while you wear the watch. In Amazfit’s typical-use testing, three hours of daily exposure at 50,000 lux extends battery life from up to 25 days to up to 34 days.
- Rear solar: A panel built into the glass-ceramic back plate with twice the collection area of the front, for charging off-wrist.
- Solar Priority Mode: An ultra-low-power state designed to maximise off-wrist solar energy recovery.
This is extremely helpful when no other power source is available, as any hope of restoring access to maps and routing info can be life-saving. For longer trips, Outdoor Extreme battery mode cuts power use while keeping essentials like GPS track points active, and a new Expedition activity mode uses it to support multi-day outings.

For navigation, it offers full-colour preloaded maps with expanded road networks, plus downloadable contour and ski maps. It also has route planning, turn-by-turn navigation, advanced waypoint navigation, POI display, and a Navigation Gradient Curve that shows upcoming climbs and descents in colour. LiveShare lets you send real-time location, heading, and key activity information to friends, family, or teammates. The Zepp App collects training, recovery, and outdoor data with personalised insights and no subscription required.

The Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar will be launched on October 23 at the price of RM2,799, available through the official website, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
