Google has officially revealed what they have been cooking for June 2026 in terms of Android features, and there are 3 things: safety, personalization, and interoperability across devices.
Perhaps the most important addition is Fake Call Detection sitting inside the Phone app, and it can confidently flag situations where a caller is impersonating someone in your contacts, even when the number itself looks legitimate. Using device-level verification signals and encrypted communications, Android will alert users mid-call if something doesn’t add up, giving a clearer warning when scam attempts try to mimic trusted contacts.
Meanwhile, Digital Wardrobe is pretty much the “2020 dream from 1980”, automatically identifying clothing items from users’ images and organizing them into a virtual closet. This lets users mix and match outfits digitally, essentially turning past photos into a searchable fashion library.
Visual search is also getting smarter. Through Circle to Search, Android users can now identify full outfits from images instead of just single items. The system can break down clothing pieces and surface shopping-related results in a more complete way, making image-based discovery more granular than before.
As for Book Insights, it is basically productivity tools fitted into a book-reading context, as it generates summaries, revisits key ideas, and explores deeper context without leaving the app.
Lastly, Apple AirDrop compatibility via Quick Share is now running on various OEM brand devices as well as Google Pixel phones.
