Aside from unveiling new iPhones and Macs, the iPad family is also getting some love from Apple through the introduction of the new iPad Air 2022.
To start, the iPad Air of this year is getting fitted with the M1 chip touting extreme power efficiency and performance by running at a silicon configuration of 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, and 16-core NE to deliver a strong entertainment and productivity experience at a relatively worthful price. Apple is also equipping it with the Ultra-Wide 12MP Front Camera with Centre Stage that pans and keeps track of the presenter as they move around since most people use a tablet for conference calls while the back lens is also a 12MP capable of doing your standard 4K video recording, high-definition document scanning, and whatnot.
Onto the surface level parts, it rocks a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina panel capable of churning out 3.8million pixels, providing 500 nites of brightness, full lamination, p3 wide color gamut, True Tone automatic color temperature adjustment, and anti-reflective screen coat. The back of it can be sported in a variety of colors from Space Grey, Starlight, Pink, and Purple to the new Blue as well. Connectivity-wise, it has 5G and Wi-Fi 6 support to get data transfers wirelessly or using the now upgraded USB-C port at 10Gbps with support of a vast number of compatible accessories.
Pricing
The starting price for the new iPad Air is going to start at RM2,699 for Wi-Fi-only models while the Wi-Fi + Cellular combo variant will be from RM3,349 onwards. Preorders on the Apple Store website will be live in the near future.
