ASUS Malaysia has brought in a piece of good news for fellow educators as they announced the general availability of the new BR1102 series rugged laptops made for K-12 students.
Coming in flavors of the traditional clamshell design BR1102C and 360-degree screen-capable BR1102F, both of them are great for classrooms and families with children that just like to run around and maybe break things in the process.
Armed with 4x exterior edges protected by tough rubber bumper, these laptops can tank a simple drop with no problem thanks to mainly the tough military-grade materials used to build the chassis.
The smooth, fingerprint-resistant finish keeps the unit from smudges all day while the spillproof keyboard can continue to function even in the event of liquid intrusion where cutouts are created just for draining purposes.
It continues the good tradition of having Antimicrobial Guard to inhibit bacteria growth thus keeping the little ones healthy.
As for hardware, it packs an Intel Processor N100 which is not that strong but super good for battery life where the laptop can operate up to 12 hours off a single full charge. Other than that, the full-function USB-C makes sure files can be transferred quickly.
Modern protocols and features such as Bluetooth 5 and WiFi 5 are not too shabby either. Need to hop onto a call? The AI noise-cancellation microphone removes unwanted cues so you can speak freely and clearly.
Lastly, both models are created with an easy maintenance routine in mind where technicians can quickly upgrade or troubleshoot anything involving opening up the laptop.
Heck, if you’re skilled enough you can do so yourself too.
However, since this is an educational device, ASUS will be providing these aftersales services as part of the program on request.
Price and Availability
The ASUS BR1102C is priced at RM2,099 while the flippable model BR1102F is at RM2,399 instead.
Both come with 1-year on-site service coverage for worry-free and mindless operation.
