When all the spotlights shine on the gaming side of things for revealing how much computing power there is during CES 2022, ASUS is also bringing those chips for the non-gaming departments, namely the Chromebook and Expertbook lineup.
Despite its bland appearance, the 2022 ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 has become more powerful thanks to up to the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 mobile processor and Iris Xe Graphics powering the machine for taking all the modern work, education, and entertainment tasks – one of the best non-Windows home machines ever. The internal 16GB RAM and dual-band Intel Wi-Fi 6E coupled with ASUS WiFi Master for Chrome OS is capable of delivering excellent connectivity across multiple environments. The machine is also suitable for industrial deployment thanks to extra customization options through Chrome Enterprise, Chrome Education Upgrade, and Intel vPro platform.
Aside from the 360-degree hinge, the Chromebook Flip CX5 provides a decent audio and video experience through the Harman Kardon-certified speakers on top of the FHD webcam which eliminates all the pesky 720p blurry lens for meeting actual modern video conferencing standards.
Going into actual industrial use cases, the new ASUS Expertbook B5 series is also part of the lucky ones announced for an early hardware refresh for both the traditional clamshell and 360-degree convertible form factors. The most obvious one to notice is the expanded screen at 14-inch compared to the 13-inch from last year. Still maintaining the precision-crafted yet minimalist chassis made from pure magnesium-aluminum alloy, the Intel Core i7 CPU with Iris Xe graphics delivers great computing power without compromising in the form factor and cooling system, and adding a maximum of 48GB RAM can be chosen as well.
Business-focused devices also require many extra features to make them as reliable and long-lasting as possible so the new Expertbook B5 series got optimized across the board with now better battery life, security protection, and user privacy alongside some of the signature features like fingerprint sensor, TPM 2.0 chip, ASUS NumberPad, dual SSD RAID support and more, all the while still adhering to the MIL-STD-810H durability standard.
