Spotlights across the room has shown on the ASUS ProArt StudioBook 16 at CES 2023, Las Vegas because the amount of tech crammed into the machine is just abysmal. Let’s go through them one by one.

The first thing to list out is the inclusion of the brand new ASUS Spatial Vision technology that combines glass-free 3D with OLED to output spectacular visuals and it seems nothing seems close to date. It uses a lenticular-based autostereoscopic 3D technology to render slightly different frames in a vertical manner to simulate underlying mechanics of 3D visuals. Think of it applying, for example, the interlacing pattern of 1080i but vertically.

ASUS also needed to come out with a series of hardware to make Spatial Vision possible and here’s where the multiple layers of OLED, lenticular lens, 2D/3D liquid crystal switching, and optical resin panels all come together to make this happen.

The industry is also ready to support Spatial Vision through updates and optional plugins that can added into popular 3D applications and game engines for native compatibility while a multitude of file formats can also be tuned and integrated into the it as well.

In terms of output, it can output 1 million to 1 contrast ratio which is top-of-the-line standard and a really low 0.2ms response time with 120Hz refresh rate. Real-time glass-free 3D gaming, product showcase, 3D modelling, you name it, all of them are on the way!

Looking from the outside, the overall bezels and form factor are slimmer now and it can be laid completely flat thanks to the 180°hinge. The touchpad is now 28% bigger and pressure sensors are completely filled so you can click anywhere you like. The iconic ASUS Dial is here to stay too.
