With the launch of 9th generation Intel Core processors, we’re seeing a slew of new PCs getting announced left and right which supports the latest Core i9 processors. ASUS is one of the fastest to announce as well, as they’ve just released the ROG Strix GL12CX gaming desktop.

ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX

This brand new┬áROG Strix GL12CX comes with top-of-the-line hardware. Featuring Intel’s latest Core i9-9900K octa-core processor with 16 threads and specially binned to allow clocks at 4.9GHz for all cores and threads. Now that’s not an easy feat for an 8-core processor. To ensure the CPU is cooled properly, ASUS is including liquid cooling as well.

Featuring a custom Cooler Master CPU liquid cooler alongside with another 90mm fan at the back, ASUS is claiming that the Strix GL12CX has gone through a series of stress tests to ensure high factory overclocks as well.

To complement the Intel Core i9-9900K, the Strix GL12CX will also be equipped with NVIDIA’s latest Turing architecture of graphics cards as well. You can check out this link to learn more about the RTX 20-series graphics cards.

ASUS claims that the case of the Strix GL12CX is inspired from gashes of a katana slash on armors. Surprisingly, this is also the first time Armoury Crate is being implemented on a desktop. It’s replacing the existing clunky ROG Gaming center with a much more beautiful yet informative UI. You can control the RGB lighting via the Armoury Crate and also sync up with other ASUS peripherals via Aura Sync as well.

Not only that – the Strix GL12CX also comes with a hot-swap SSD bay. Another feature is that the Strix GL12CX also features ASUS DIMM.2 module on the Z390 motherboard that has two M.2 SSD slots. You can install two M.2 SSDs on the DIMM.2 card and set it up for RAID 0 for an even faster speed. To keep the M.2 SSDs cool, the DIMM.2 module has integrated heatsinks for each SSD as well.
