ZenPad C (red colour) with ZenPad 7.0 and some of its swappable back covers.

ASUS is really bringing out the Zen guns this year – and they’re going Rambo with it and changing all of the existing product line’s name to Zen-somethings. It started off with their ZenFone series last year then even to their ultrabook series, and now it’s the all new ZenPad which is to rename the PadFone series.

ASUS had some really fun and innovative ideas this time around. The ZenPad is now powered by Intel’s latest Atom x3 processor, and touts some really great features too – and that’s the ZenPad 7.0 Z370CG.

It comes with a total of 3 colours – metallic, white, and black. This will dictate the body’s colour obviously, but there’s a trick up their removable back cover, and that’s – oh wait, I just said it. It’s the removable back cover!

Yep, it has a SIM card slot and it makes calls.

The white colour ZenPad 7.0 does have the white bezels at the front and another white bar at the back, but that’s the only to be permanently white. If you’re bored, take off the back cover and swap it off with some other colours – either white, orange, light blue, black, or beige.

That’s not all – there is another clutch design for the ZenPad 7.0, presumably it’s like a purse-like flip cover that is built as a back cover for the ZenPad 7.0. And then there’s their special little speaker cover.

This thing sounds sweet – it’s like a mini Sonos soundbar right in front of your face, and it can make the room shake with amazing tunes! The main surprise here being that this small little speaker cover is a flip case itself – and plays really good music, albeit a tad bit heavier and thicker.
Still, ASUS can consider this sold to me already.

Also has a trench for the ZenPad to prop up on.

Sad news about this ZenPad being that there are no pricing yet, but ASUS will have a roadshow at Mid Valley Megamall this August 26th 2015.
Stay tuned for more information about this event!

ZenPad C 7.0 Z170CG

The ZenPad C is the lower end model – but still rocks the same Intel Atom x3 processor but with lower resolution display and the RAM is a gig less, but it has dual SIM capabilities.

Nothing else really did change, other than the back cover of the ZenPad C is not removable and you’re stuck with whatever colour you bought 🙁

ASUS did tell us the price of the ZenPad C – it’s available at RM499, and it’s now in the market too!
