China can literally copy everything. From cars to gadgets, there’s always a China version. Some of you might have heard about Baidu; the China version of the massive search engine, Google. So, recently Google has announced that they will be releasing their Google Glass this year after years of development. Turns out that it’s doppelgänger is also quietly developing the same thing. Only with a different name – they call it, “Baidu Eye”.
Baidu spokesperson Kaiser Kuo said:
“It’s all about visual search on images and voice command. These have been a part of science fiction since the Fifties but now they’re becoming reality.”
Baidu spoke person denies that they are working with Qualcomm; a famous company that builds processors. As a matter of fact, they are not working with any vendors at all(yet?)!
Apparently, the Baidu Eye is only in “small internal test” phase which means that the product may not be released at all.
