Bolt is starting to react to the ongoing fuel price pressure in Malaysia by rolling out a mix of cost-saving features, and at the center of it is this push for multi-stop rides combined with discounts of up to 25% as a way to cut down on daily commuting costs.
The multi-stop feature itself lets you stack up to three drop-offs in a single trip, where if you and a couple of people are heading in roughly the same direction, you can split the ride instead of booking separately, which according to Bolt can bring savings of up to 35% compared to individual trips, while platform data shows that most users are already settling into a two-stop pattern, suggesting this shared ride behavior is starting to stick among local users.
More so, they also mentioned that they will be optimizing on driver availability during peak hours to reduce wait times and avoid heavy surge pricing, while its ride scheduling feature lets users lock in trips ahead of time, which adds a bit more predictability in both timing and cost, especially for daily commuters trying to manage tighter budgets.
