Just close to 5 months after joining TikTok, BTS has released the title song of their upcoming “MAP OF THE SOUL 7” album which is “ON” exclusively on the platform 12 hours ahead of the official release.
There were other artists that published their work on TikTok either exclusively or as a timed exclusive, but BTS is surely the one making headlines here as they are one of the hottest bands.
Aren’t TikTok clips are only at most 15 seconds long?
The entire song won’t be there of course, but only 30 seconds of it since it was not only released for listening purpose but also letting users incorporate their next TikTok video of the day with it. Therefore, there won’t be any 5 minute long TikTok clips any time soon.

It is expected for the music industry to start realizing how fast, effective and easily TikTok can help them spread their latest announcement through exclusive deals. With BTS taking the first step, perhaps TikTok could start attracting more artists to join the fray as well. But I do hope meme clips continue to rule over the platform though.
