Smartphone

Xiaomi has been making smartphones for quite some time already - but they started off with a custom ROM called MIUI. Over the years, they've evolved into a smartphone company and became what it is today. Though over the years, Xiaomi still continues their renowned lineup of budget smartphones - the Redmi series. As 2017 was the year where longer displays emerged, Xiaomi hopped onto the bandwagon with their latest Redmi 5 Plus - and we got our hands on one for review!

Since the release of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ (which we reviewed here), every other smartphone brands out there has been latching onto the latest trend - longer screen. Though, instead of following Samsung's aspect ratio of 18.5:9, other smartphones opted for an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is empirically 2:1, also known as "FullView display" now. ASUS opted for more than just having a 2:1 screen for the ZenFone Max Plus M1.

Over the past few months, OPPO has been pretty silent with their smartphone releases. For some reason, the OPPO R11 was not brought to the Malaysian market - and never will be. Then, I looked at the RM1.2k market segment of smartphones and realized - last year, there was the OPPO F1s that we've reviewed here. It's a decent phone at that price. A little more than a year later, the new OPPO F5 was announced. Just how well does the brand new OPPO F5 perform, and is it worth your price?

When it comes to smartphones, we've always been seeing the same price ranges and genres of devices offered. We have one high-end smartphone that has a stylus in the market, but that's out of many people's league. What if we tell you that there is indeed an alternative now - and that smartphone is called the Infinix NOTE4 PRO?

A few months ago, we reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Though, there are many Samsung lovers who are awaiting the Galaxy Note8. It has been on hiatus for more than a year - and the void within these Note series lovers are growing. With the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note8, it's a major step-up from the Note5.

Back when we're at the grand launch of the ASUS ZenFone 4 family of smartphones at Taipei, the Max series was a part of it. Within the Max series is the Max Pro. Sure, it's a niche audience for the Max Pro but how does it fare out against other smartphones? Let's take an in-depth dive into the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Pro and see what it offers.

Let's talk about what Nokia had gone through over the years. Back during the days when they're still stuck with Symbian OS, things weren't going so well. That's when Apple first announced the iPhone and Android came out not too long after that. Around that time, the economic crisis hit. Things were nasty for Nokia. Then, Microsoft bought over the mobile division and that didn't go well either. Now, they have returned under HMD Global - and is it ready to reclaim the throne with the Nokia 8?

We went over to Taipei, Taiwan to attend the grand launch of the ASUS ZenFone 4 family of smartphones. Gong Yoo was there, and the place was like Train To Busan as people flock to the venue just to meet him. After the grand launch, we hung out for a while before heading over to dinner, and that's when the surprise struck us - we're getting the ASUS ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro right then and there!

A little shy of a month ago, we went to Taipei, Taiwan for the grand launching of the ASUS ZenFone 4 series. A week after the grand launching, the ASUS ZenFone 4 series was already available in Malaysia! Among the family of ZenFone 4 series of smartphones, the one that was deemed the "face of ZenFone 4" is the Selfie Pro, where we all got a unit to review and also the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro Media Appreciation Package.
