CelcomDigi has announced a new collaboration with IPification to bring network-based mobile verification to one of the world’s largest social media platforms.
The partnership will allow global digital platforms to tap directly into trusted network APIs for identity verification during account registration, login, and account recovery, helping reduce fake accounts, identity fraud, and account takeovers while making the verification process quicker and more seamless for users. This is done via a secure verification of a user’s mobile number leveraged from the mobile network of CelcomDigi.
The technology can support a wide range of scenarios beyond simply logging into an account. It can streamline new account registration, prevent fake or duplicate accounts, strengthen protection against account hijacking and identity fraud, improve the reliability of AI-powered moderation and fraud detection systems, and ultimately create a safer online environment for consumers.
This latest initiative also expands CelcomDigi’s growing ecosystem of trusted network APIs, which already includes phone number verification services available through Google’s Firebase platform.
As more online services embrace AI-powered features, the company sees secure network-based identity verification as an increasingly important building block for helping businesses protect users while fostering greater trust across Malaysia’s digital economy.
